The Alligator River Story
Love in my definition would be caring about someone so much that you would do just about anything to make them happy. There are some limits in the things you should do in order to make someone happy. It shouldn't be anything that would make you look stupid or jeopardize your life. Abigail had a couple options on what to do in order to see her true love. Either she could swim across a river with scary alligators, wait until she had time to drive to next open bridge, or have sexual intercourse with a river boat captain named Sinbad. In this story, Abigail loved Gregory so much that she made the wrong decision. Two of those choses should have been cancelled immediately. She shouldn't have swam with a bunch of alligators because that would have jeopardized her life and she shouldn't have had sexual intercourse with Sinbad. She should have just waited because if you really love someone then love will wait.
Abigail is the main character of the story. I will give her a 3. I really don't have a lot of respect for her because you shouldn't have had sexual intercourse with just anybody to see her true love. That was very coniving of her to even think twice of the decision she made. Obviously she didn't love him as much as she said she did because she would have never had sex with another man. She really didn't think what she did was wrong because she didn't even hesitate to tell Gregory.
Sinbad gets a 2. Im pretty sure that he is a lot older than Abigail. I feel that he is a lot older than Abigail because it talks about him being a river boat captain. I also feel like someone younger then her wouldn't have the guts to ask her to have sex in order to cross the river. The description they gave us for Sinbad makes him sound like an old man. He should not have even asked her to have sex. It's not all his fault because Abigail should not have agreed to. Maybe Sinbad is secretly in love with Abigail and really thought that by having sex with him would make her not want to go see Gregory or he could have just wanted to have sex.
Gregory gets a 5. He did the right thing which was kicking Abigail out of his life. How could someone literally say that they love you but do what she did. He did the right thing and he shouldn't feel bad about it. I have the most respect for him because i would have did the same thing if i was him. That was so trifling of Abigail to hurt him like that. Good job Gregory, you're the number 5 spot in my respect list.
Ivan gets a 4. He really wasn't involved in the story, but he should have given his friend some advice and maybe she wouldn't be in the situation that she's in. I give him a little respect because he stayed out of the situation and he let Abigail make her own decision. By him being her friend, he should have voiced his opinion a little and told her the right thing to do. She would have probaly listened to him because he's a friend and she had the guts to go ask him for advice.
No matter how much you love someone true love waits. This would have worked out good for Abigail if she would have waited. If Gregory really loved her then he would have still been waiting on her when the bridge opened. Never make stupid decisions in order to see someone who you really care about. If that person cares about you enough then they will wait on you regardless. Obiviously, Abigail really didn't care that much about Gregory because she just had sex with another man and then went to go see Gregory like she did nothing wrong. People should really start thinking twice before they make weird decisions.

Discrimination should NOT be allowed
Topic: Human Rights vs. Majority Rule
Being heterosexual or homosexual is your choice. Many people approve of it and many people don't. I feel that what you choose to do and be in your lifetime is your choice and no one should let nobody judge you. Everyone should be allowed to have their freedom of their personal beliefs or religion. People can not choose who they like. Someone may be born liking the same gender as themselves. We do not choose our gender and we can not help who we like. The world should step up and be adults about the situation and stop the discrimination.
Discrimination in the workforce should not be allowed. The workforce can not discriminate towards retardation or race so therefore they should not be able to discriminate towards someone who is gay. For example, my best friend went to the restaurant where i work to fill out an application. The manager thought that he was really intellegent and asked him could he stay for an interview. He did really good and my manager was amazed with the skills and intellegence that he had. My manager then told him that he had the job that all he needed to do was come back the next day to have a talk with the general manager. He was so excited that he came back in later that night to have dinner with his boyfriend. The manager was still on duty and he saw that he came in with another male. The manager asked me who was the guy he was with and i told him that it was his fiancee'. He said "oh" with a weird look. He then went into the office to use the phone. The schdules were posted by the office door. I went to look at the schedules to hear who he was calling. I heard him say the general managers name. He was telling him how we could hire my friend because he was gay and he didn't want him around his son who was a dish guy. He said that he felt that his son already acted gay at times and that he didn't want someone who would be a gay influence around his son.I didn't let him know that i heard him. I was shocked that they would feel that. It all caused a big commotion and it went under investigation. The manager ended up getting fired and was sued by the family.
I just feel like discrmination should not be allowed in the workforce or anywhere else. Who people tend to date or have relations should be there decision and no one elses.There's no difference from being discriminated because your gay then being discriminated because of race and gender.Everyone should be treated the same no matter who they tend to date. Hopefully they don't let other peoples judgement bother them. If it's just people off the streets talking about you then you shouldn't worry, but if it's in the workforce then you should get the case under investigation so that it want happen to someone else. It can be very serious to some people, but people will never understand until they are in the situation of being discriminated.
